Vitamin
C is known as ascorbic acid. I remember my doctor always told me to
take vitamin C supplements with my iron pill. Now I know why. This is
because it absorbs iron fast. Vitamin C helps fight gout and flare-ups.
Vitamin C is good for your immune. It is also good for your skin, high
blood pressure and heart health. As well as cataracts, glaucoma, and it
fights respiratory tract infections, (Link, 2019). It is high in
antioxidants. Antioxidants fight off diseases. Vitamin C is good for
your cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Some research has shown that
vitamin C also helps with brain support. When combined with vitamin E,
it helps lower the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, (Link, 2019).
Instead
of taking the vitamin C supplement you can just eat the foods that
contains it. What foods have the highest amount of vitamin C?
- Strawberries
- Guava
- Bell Peppers
- Oranges
- Broccoli
- Papaya
- Kiwi
- Tomatoes
- Kale
- Snow Peas
