The key to a healthy relationship is communication. Your mate should know your expectations in the relationship. Keeping secrets from one another is also a bad thing for your relationship. Keeping secrets is detrimental. Trusting one another is very important. Spending quality time is also important. You should always keep your commitments to one another. If you are not going to be able to fulfill the commitment, let your partner know ahead of time.

Plan a romantic getaway or a surprise candlelight dinner at home for just the two of you.
