Chickweed
(Stellaria Media) is a plant that is native to Europe. Chickweed is a
plant that is related to the carnation family. Chickweed is commonly
found growing in your backyard. Chickweed is also known as Starweed.
Chickweed can be taken in a capsule form, salve, ointment, extract or as
a tea. Chickweed was used as early as the 16th century.

Chickweed
is used to aid in weight loss (obesity). Chickweed is also known to
help relieve constipation, stomach and bowel problems, blood disorders,
asthma, and some lung diseases. Chickweed is good for vitamin C
deficiency, which is a disease called scurvy. Scurvy is a skin condition
known as psoriasis. Chickweed can also be used for rabies, itching,
muscle, and joint pain. Chickweed is also used to curve your appetite.
When
applied to the skin Chickweed is used to treat certain skin conditions;
Such as burns, dermatitis, diaper rash, eczema, insect bites, itchy
skin, psoriasis, rashes, and wounds.
